Mendeley workshop

The Library organises an introductory workshop for reference management applications and  particularly on Mendeley, for students, teaching and other staff of the School of Philosophy. The workshop presents the main functionalities of Mendeley (Mendeley Reference Manager, Mendeley Cite, Mendeley Web Importer), a reference manager software used to manage and share research papers and generate bibliographies for scholarly articles. Mendeley  is  also a social network of researchers.

Mendeley: a reference management application

Mendeley is an online bibliographic management application and social network for researchers, which allows users to organize their bibliographies and share bibliographic references and papers with other researchers. It runs on computers (from 2021 onwards, the updated Reference Manager software will not work on mobile devices). The version for individual users is provided free of charge and data migration from other bibliography programs (e.g. Refworks, Zotero, etc.) is possible.

With this application, you can save documents from the internet, e.g. scientific articles, organize them into folders, and add your own notes, highlights, and tags. The bibliographic references included in the documents are automatically imported when saved in Mendeley and can be easily exported according to international standards for displaying references in documents

Researchers create their profile in the application, where they can upload their research publications and obtain detailed statistical information about them, as well as about their field of science and research interests in general. In addition, the system allows registered users to participate in research networks, so they can follow the research activities of other colleagues and constantly discover people with similar interests. Thus, publications are recommended to researchers according to their field of knowledge and interests, which they can immediately add to their Mendeley library.
