Greek and Roman world resources (BAAG Program)
The subscription to these databases of archaeological content was funded by the English-language undergraduate program of the School of Philosophy, "BA Program in the Archaeology, History and Literature of Ancient Greece" (BAAG), in consultation with the Library of the School of Philosophy.
Loeb Classical Library
Access to the LOEB Classical Library bibliographic database is available at: https://www.loebclassics.com/
It is an interconnected, fully searchable, and constantly expanding virtual library of ancient Greek and Latin texts with English translations.
The Loeb Classical Library series is a particularly valuable series of texts and English translations, which provides access to all ancient Greek and Latin literature, epic and lyric poetry, tragedy and comedy, history, philosophy and rhetoric, medicine and mathematics, and ecclesiastical writers who studied pagan literature.
In short, the series represents the entire classical tradition, with updated texts and accurate and authoritative English translations, adequate introductions, critical and explanatory comments, and selected bibliographies. For more information on this historic series, see the article G.H.R. Horsley, One hundred years of the Loeb Classical Library.
Trismegistos. An interdisciplinary portal of the ancient world
Access to the Trismegistos database is available at: https://www.trismegistos.org/
The interdisciplinary Trismegistos database uses as its sources manuscripts from the ancient and early medieval world, written on inscriptions, shells, papyri, wooden tablets, parchments, etc.
The aim of the database is to make use of all the information from texts of antiquity and the early medieval period (800 BC - 800 AD) in various languages (Greek, Latin, Demotic, Coptic, Akkadian, Punic, Celtoiberic, Venetic, Old English), as well as to enrich the ten archaeology databases it has created.
